Falmouth Land Trust

The purpose of the Falmouth Land Trust is to permanently protect field, forest, shoreline, and wildlife lands; to maintain the historical character and natural beauty of Falmouth; and to educate its citizens regarding the values of donation, stewardship, and enjoyment of protected lands.

The vision for the Falmouth Land Trust is to preserve and steward open spaces and key habitat areas not only in the Town of Falmouth but within the region, and particularly within the Presumpscot River watershed, in collaboration with other local and regional organizations. As we look forward to the next 25 years, the Trust will have to raise its profile in the town, aggressively seek acquisition opportunities, and most importantly look further a field to partner with neighboring communities to preserve important contiguous ecosystems. In order to achieve these goals, the Falmouth Land Trust will need to launch a significant capital campaign, develop and implement a regional conservation plan that stretches beyond the town borders, and achieve enough critical mass to support full time staff.
